We’d like to invite everyone to join us for host committee meetings for OYPAA 2010. We meet the first Sunday of every month at 2 pm at the Today Club II in Akron (704 N. Main St).

On Sunday, May 3rd at 2 pm, NOYPAA will officially become the OYPAA 2010 Host Committee. But we need your help! We’re having elections for tons of positions and everyone is welcome to attend.
If you CANNOT be there in person, but still want to run for a position, please email our NOYPAA chairperson (chairperson @ noypaa.org – no spaces) and let him know what position you would like to run for. We’re also asking for a service resume for absentee nominations ONLY. Just give us a rundown of the service work you’ve done in AA (chairing, GSR, Committee chairperson, whatever) and send that to the Chairperson as well.
The elections will be held at the 12 Step Club in Brunswick, OH (on Rt. 42 just south of 303 behind the bowling alley). Come check stuff out and bring a friend (or 8 friends) and join as we get busy planning OYPAA 2010.
What kinds of positions will we be voting on? Here’s just a few:
You don’t have to head up a committee. You can just come and agree to help out a committee (which is just as important; trust us). Contact our chairperson if you have any questions and we’ll see you on Sunday!
So a bunch of us just headed down to Columbus this past weekend and attended OYPAA 2009. Those Columbus YPs know how to put on a party. We all had a blast. All three main speakers were phenomenal and the panels were equally outstanding.
The best part? (Wait for it)…
That’s right. The NOYPAA / OYPAA bid committee was awarded the privilege of hosting OYPAA 2010 in the Akron area next year.
So, what’s next? We’re having our normal meeting in two weeks on April 26 at Chipotle’s in Garfield Heights and we’re having elections for host committee positions on Sunday, May 3 at the Twelve Step Club in Brunswick (on Rt. 42 just south of 303 behind the bowling alley). The elections will begin at 2 pm. Absolutely anyone can come and run for a position. And believe me, we’ll need the help. Even if you don’t want to head up a committee, come on out and we’ll put you to work.

There are a couple of reasons that we will not be meeting this Saturday.
1. It’s Easter. Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate it. To those of you who don’t, Happy April 10th.
2. We’re going to OYPAA!
That’s right, the entire crew is going to be in Columbus this weekend for OYPAA 2009. We’re going down in full force since we’re bidding for OYPAA 2010 to come to NE Ohio. Holla. We’ll let you know how it goes and thanks to everyone who has supported us so far!
We’ll be back in action on April 26th at the Chipotle off Transportation Blvd in the Garfield Heights Area. We kick things off at 1 pm. Come hang out with us. And if you’re not doing anything this weekend, come visit us in Dublin, OH for OYPAA!
Ohio Young People in AA is having a Tubing Event on February 27th from 10 pm – midnight at Snow Trails Winter Resort in Mansfield Ohio.
Cost: $22 pre-sale / $25 at the event.

Road Trip Alert!
OYPAA is having a Halloween Bash and Costume Party in Columbus, OH.
Date: October 31, 2008
Time: Speaker at 8, Dancing to follow until midnight.
